Living with Covid-19
Following the release of the Government guidelines 'Living with Covid-19" on 1st April these are the measures that will take place at Carshalton High School for Girls.
The key points are as follows:
Asymptomatic Testing
Regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting. Students can of course continue with asymptomatic testing should they wish, however we will no longer be providing regular free home testing kits.
Positive COVID-19 test
Students with a positive Covid-19 test result should stay at home and isolate for three days. After three days, if they feel well and they do not have a high temperature, they can return to School. The full guidance can be found here: People with symptoms of a respiratory infection including COVID-19 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). We will continue to offer Online Learning for students who are isolating and who are well enough to attend their lessons virtually.
Symptoms
Students who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to school when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend. We will not be offering Online Learning to these students as they are unwell and should instead spend the time recuperating.
Sanitiser & Face Masks
We will continue to provide hand sanitiser for those who wish to use it as part of good hygiene. Students & staff who wish to wear face masks continue to be welcome to do so.
Ventilation
We will also continue to ensure there is proper and adequate ventilation in classrooms. However, due to the increase in temperature students will no longer be able to wear their coats in lessons.
