Extended Project Qualification
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) at CHSG
At CHSG all sixth form students have the opportunity to complete an Extended Project Qualification. This is a Level 3 (A-Level standard) qualification, graded A*-E and worth up to 28 UCAS points. Students choose a topic, carry out independent research, produce a report and give a presentation on their findings.

Course Content
Students can choose to produce:
- A report (5000 words)
- An artefact and a short report (1000 words)
Students are expected to spend around 120 hours on their EPQ- 30 guided in school and 90 independently.
EPQ Format at CHSG
- Students sign up at the end of Year 12 and hand in the EPQ in April of Year 13.
- All students meet regularly one-to-one with a supervisor.
- 1 hour lesson per week on research and writing skills.
