Exam Certificates
Exam Certificates are official documents issued by the Examination Boards after each exam season. Please note that the certificates are not the same as the exam results slips, which are issued by the school on Results Day. It is very important that students collect their certificates as soon as they are available and keep them in a safe place. Employers, universities and colleges may ask to see them for many years after the student leaves school.
How can I collect my examination certificates?
Certificate collection sessions are arranged in school during November and December each year. The collection dates for 2025 certificates are:
GCSE: Wednesday 26th November 2025, 2:00pm-4:00pm
A Level: Tuesday 16th December 2025, afternoon
If you have missed the collection date for 2024 GCSE or A Level Certificates, please contact Ms Maybury via rmaybury@carshaltongirls.org.uk to arrange an alternative collection date.
How long will the school keep my certificates?
The school is required to hold exam certificates for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. After this time, the school can send them to be destroyed.
What can I do if I have lost my certificates?
If you lose or damage your certificates you will need to contact the relevant exam boards and follow their replacement certificate procedure. This is a costly and lengthy process which you will need to instigate and pay for yourself.
