Parents and students may also wish to visit the DfE’s Be Exam Smart website for information and read the guidance to help students avoid making mistakes, which could lose them marks or lead to disqualification from an exam.

Contingency Day

The Contingency Day is a date, pre-set by the Examination Boards, to reschedule an exam if there is a national or local emergency, which leads to an exam having to be cancelled. Students must keep themselves available for the contingency date, i.e. no holidays should be booked before this date.

The Examination Contingency Day for Summer 2025 exams is Wednesday 25th June 2025.
